Welcome To Our Unit
The Health Promotion unit was established in December 1999 (as the Harvey Road Health Club). Manned by Physiotherapists and health instructors.
The unit serves to:
- Treat In-patients and out-patients with conditions/co-morbidities amenable to physiotherapy
- Conduct fitness assessments
- Deliver fitness classes via aerobics and the use of strength training, free weight and cardiovascular equipment to clients
- Educate patients, staff members and the general populace on the importance of staying healthy and manage stress without waiting for the onset of disease.
At the inception with very few equipment’s, the unit has grown to having:
- A well-equipped gymnasium.
- Treatment rooms.
- Games hall.
- Aerobic studio.
- Sauna
- A lawn tennis court.
With our expertise in physiotherapy, we offer full rehabilitation services using evidence based interventions, current research methodology, critical thinking skills and collaboration with other medical personnel.
Target Setting
TARGET SETTING
- To provide qualitative service to members comparable to similar clubs
- To promote the health of staff, patients and entire populace through exercise programmes.
- To manage mentally ill patients physiotherapeutically as well as others that require physiotherapy services.
- To educate patients, staff and entire populace on the importance of health and manage personal stress without waiting for the onset of disease.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES OF DEPARTMENT REGISTRATION
- Member who aspire to join the unit would be registered after the appropriate fees paid and official receipt obtained.
- Members should fill the appropriate forms and health and information form (i.e. medical and physical assessment)
- Daily attendance of the members are kept.

CORE EVENTS OF DEPARTMENT
In the recent time, the department organised World Physiotherapy day in collaboration with
Nigeria society of Physiotherapy (Lagos state Chapter)
to mark the World confederation for Physical Therapy.
Also an exercise programme (games and aerobics) was performed for new members of staff as
part of the orientation programme organised by the hospital.member who aspire to join
