BERTHA JOHNSON WARD TWO
This is a 14 bedded female ward. Presently, as instructed by the hospital management, admission capacity is 8 beds and spacing of 6 beds due to Covid-19 pandemic. It is a short stay ward as patients are only admitted for two weeks. If certified mentally stable, patients are discharged to OPC or transferred to a long stay ward for further management.
The ward is headed by ADNS Okunade.
It admits acute, chronic, organic and mental and behavioural disorder cases.
CORE WARD ACTIVITIES
- Early morning care which includes: bathing of helpless patients, collection of urine specimen for laboratory investigation, wound dressing, care of patients on catheter/intravenous infusion, bedmaking etc.
- Handing and taking over of patients and ward.Serving of meals and feeding of helpless patients.
- Serving of medications and giving of injections.
- Updating all caution charts e.g sleep pattern, suicidal, homicidal and escapee charts.Monitoring of vital signs and documentation. MB
