OPC/EMERGENCY UNIT, OSHODI.
The unit comprises of Nursing, Pharmacy, Accounts and Medical Records Departments.
The nursing section is headed by ADNS Ogundipe F.A.
There are three consultants rotating the three clinic days of the week namely: Drs Akinola, Nyamali and Kajero.
UNIT ACTIVITIES:
- Handing and taking over of the unit.
- Comprehensive physical and mental assessment of patients with the aid of Nursing process.
- Identification and management of Nursing problems with the aid of Nursing Care Plan.
- Medical problems are taken care of using prescription, instructions and non-pharmaceutical methods.
- Admission of patients to short stay wards.
- Psychoeducation and Counselling of patients and their relatives.
- Giving of prescribed medications and injections.
- Checking of vital signs, fasting and random blood glucose for patients and staff.
- Giving prompt attention to emergency cases in collaboration with other health workers.
- Proper reporting and documentation of information and procedures carried out.
- Prompt and adequate attention to both staff and students' health issues.
- Implementation of hospital policy.
