NURSING ADMINISTRATION OFFICE

Is saddle with the administrative  responsibilities of organising, coordinating, and supervising the clinical activities of the nurses. The unit is presently headed by an Assistant Director (Nursing Services) who takes directives from HOD and her deputy in carrying out the activities above.

 

 

NURSING CONTINUING EDUCATION, AUDIT AND RESEARCH UNIT

This unit is responsible for continuous clinical education of the Nursing staff of the hospital, induction of the newly recruited nurses, clinical orientation program for basic and post basic nursing students, as well as clinical evaluation of services rendered by the nurses to mitigate against malpractice and ensure quality care delivery services to the patients and their families.

The activities of the unit improves the quality of nursing care delivery and increases the effectiveness of patient care and thus, promotes patients' safety and satisfaction.

 

ELECTROCONVULSIVE THERAPY (ECT) UNIT

This is one of the most important unit in psychiatric hospital setting, as it is a unique intervention solely use in psychiatric setting to treat acute psychotic symptoms or emergency case in psychiatry when medications or other therapeutic interventions seems not to be working / effective.

 

CENTRAL STERILE SERVICES (/SUPPLY) UNIT (CSSD)

Is a service unit of the hospital responsible for providing guaranteed sterile equipment / instruments to all the clinical area of the hospital for immediate use in patients care.

The CSSU plays a vital role in patient safety and in reducing hospital acquired infection. The unit receives, disinfect, sterilizes, stored and distributes Medical materials / equipments.
